Probably the scene where Jack and his hunters kill the sow. It seems so horrible and it was sad because the piglets lost their mother. It was also disgraceful how they torchered it so badly and kept stabbing it even though it had already died. When Roger stuck it stick up the sow's a$s it was relly gross and i gould not ever imagine my self doing that... he must be one really sick kid.

In my opinion, I think that Simon's death is the worst scene in the novel. What makes this scene more depraved than others is the fact that Simon came to the boys to inform them about the beast and how it is really a parachutist. He is innocent and killed because the evil traits that the boys possess have caused them to become savages. It is really sad to see a kind hearted boy like Simon, die such a horrible death.

I think that the part when the boys are beating up Robert is probably the most disturbing scene of the book. The boys are chanting for Ralph to kill him as he is screaming in pain telling them to stop. They have him pinned down, and Ralph actually does hurt him with a stick. To me, this is the worst act in the book because it is a brutal attack on an innocent person by young boys that do not exceed the age of 13. That creeps me out a little to think that sixth graders would hurt an innocent boy.

I think that the conch breaking was the worst thing that happend in the book. This wasn't the most violent part but it did involve the death of piggy and earlier the death of simon. The conch was a symbol of the whole groups copperation, unity, and the goverment that was formed. The conch was used so everonne can speak their minds one at a time whithout it getting crazy. When the conch broke that ment that all methods of talking to solve problems was gone and it was compleate chaos. Thats when we know the boys have compleatly lost it and they were in fact now savages and have gone nuts!

Maureen i guess i am just missing out why that is so depraved it was an accident that it hit piggy instead of Ralph. Deathes of Simon and Piggy are way worse than that.

I agree with Ambika that the worst scene was when they killed Simon. He was innocent and the only truely good person on the island. He got killed for trying to tell them that the beast was not real and it was only a parachutist. The boys on the island are acting like savages and crazy because they are frightened. Simon also saved the littleun that the boys were going to murder until Simon came out of the jungle. This is Kerry.

I agree with Ambika that Simon's death was one of the worst scenes. Simon was truly innocent and a truly good person. When he was trying to help the boys and save their lives, he ended being killed. This is also a heroic scence, because he saves one of the other boys lives.
This is Zoe.

Ambika and anonymous were right. The scene where Simon dies is the most grusome. The fact that the use their own hands to kill him makes the scene more savage than any other.
